Erste Videoauskopplung von Graciela Maria‘s kommendem Album “Olvido”, welches am 5. April 2013 wie gewohnt über Project Mooncircle rauskommt.

Es ist mal wieder soweit und wir hier bei dougegen.de möchten gute Musik unters Volk bringen. Heute handelt es sich um die aus London stammenden Künstler Obba Supa, die den Headz definitiv ein Begriff sein sollten, ob ihrer Releases auf Project:Mooncircle.
Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich eine kleine Unterhaltung mit Teknical Development und da wurde mir ein Link zuteil, der eine Art Album inne hatte, welches so nie erschienen ist – “Don’t waste power”.
Da dieser Link nur eine kurze Zeit zur Verfügung stand, holte ich mir das Einverständnis von Tek ein, um dieses kleine aber sehr feine Tape hier auf dougegen.de präsentieren zu können.
Tek kurz dazu:

Nicht mehr ganz neu, und als Vinyl schon lange vergriffen (limitiert auf 300 Stück): Das dritte Release innerhalb eines Jahres der Londoner Obba Supa, genannt “Audio Alchemy“.
Veröffentlichung war der 10. September 2010.

Exprerimenteller HipHop mit teilweise typisch englischen Glitch-Dupstep Einflüssen der doch sehr organisch und gediegen daherkommt.
Kennt jemand Künstler die vergleichbar sind mit Obba Supa? Mir fallen spontan keine ein…
Mit dabei ist mal wieder die amerikanisch-nigerianisch-englische Sängerin Shuanise, sowie der tschechische Instrumentalist Radimo (ersetzt eine ganze Bläser-Sektion, fast).
Die beiden Lieder “Too Far Gone Bad” und “Breaks On Faces” sind NOCH auf Vinyl zu haben. Wieder streng limitiert auf 300 Exemplare kann man sich die 7″ momentan noch beim HHV bestellen.
“Audio Alchemy” gibt´s auch als digitalen Download, auf Bandcamp.

Bei gefühlten Millionen von Spam-Emails am Tag freut man sich dann doch mal über eine Nicht-Spam-Email. So auch über den Project Mooncircle Newsletter der gestern Nacht kam. Ruhiger, atmosphärischer HipHop mit tiefer Reibeisen-Stimme und inhaltlich anspruchsvollen Texten.
Warum der Ordner nach dem entpacken 150MB groß ist, obwohl “nur” 7 Mp3s drin sind wundert nicht mehr,
wenn man die 111 MegaByte große PDF-Datei entdeckt.
Es handelt sich um das “Enter The Circle Digital Rhyme Book” mit Texten, Zeichnungen und der Entstehung des Covers. Gefällt mir sehr, sehr gut. Typographie sowie die Zeichnungen…

Letztens sind noch Asterix und Obelix 50 geworden, jetzt ist´s PROJECT: Mooncircle.

Obige Beschreibung habe ich einfach mal von Ihrer Myspace-Seite kopiert. Passt sehr gut denke ich. Lockerer, ruhiger (GEILER) Instrumental-HipHop mit nostalgischem Charme. Mittlerweile sind die beiden Belgier auf Project: Mooncircle.
