Vielleicht etwas unhandlich und unkomfortabel beim einstecken, aber das ist ja wohl mal sowas von nebensächlich! 4Gb fassen diese schönen Dinger übrigens. Allerdings mit “Only $39.95 + S/H” doch nicht ganz billig.

Dennoch Applaus für die Usb-Stick Versionen der Legenden MPC2000XL und SP1200!

XLR8R gave anticon. co-conspirators Jel and Odd Nosdam 40 bucks and challenged them to come up with a track in a single afternoon, made solely from records they found at a junk shop in West Berkeley, CA. Here, we follow them from junk shop to SP-1200 and, finally, to debuting the breezy, psychedelic afternoon masterpiece at their regular DJ night.

“Paul Murphy – Jazzing The Old Way” ist nicht nur Nummer 87 von Mondayjazz, sondern auch meine erste Musik in Kalenderwoche Nummer 19.

Der Mix vom Mann aus England, auch oft mal betitelt als “inventor of UK jazz dance scene“, jazzt aber nicht nur, er geht auch in Richtung Big-Band teilweise Funk, Latin, Breaks und Afro. Sehr schön. 59 Minuten Meter-Mach-Musik!

Dem habe ich eigentlich nur noch hinzuzufügen das man diese Musik auch sehr gut an einem sonnigen, dennoch kalten, Freitagmorgen um 8:32 Uhr hören kann. Andere Tage, Uhrzeiten und Wetterlagen sind auf eigene Gefahr zu genießen…

Die Beschreibung von Archaic Horizon Records ist so treffend das ich es gar nicht selbst versuchen will:

“The EP is a tranquil expression of resonant melodies and chilled beats. Emphasizing an expansive aural environment, Melorman’s synths orbit around a stereofield enriched with granular ambience and soft, fragmented percussion.”
