Trainspotters – Bastards!
Nach dem sehr erfolgreichen ersten Soloalbum “Dirty North” der Trainspotters, bestehend aus Ricky Rewind and George Kaplan, auf dem eigenen Label Random Bastards, wurde pünktlich zu Jahresbeginn der Nachfolger “Bastards” veröffentlicht.
Der vorliegende Longplayer wurde komplett von Alexander “Academics” Juneblad produziert und wie eingangs schon angedeutet, wieder auf Random Bastards released.
Für die Hip Hop Headz sind scheinbar schon die ersten Tage des neuen Jahres 2013 ein wahrer Traum was neue VÖs betrifft. Also: supportet die Jungs und geniesst die Musik.
Elevated Ruffians – Kingsmen
Da sind wir schon wieder, denn ein neues Album von den Magnificent Ruffians und Elevated Soul steht seit dem 1. Januar zum freien Download bereit. Zusammen bilden sie die Crew Elevated Ruffians. Titel des Projekts ist “Kingsmen”.
“This album has a specific dedication to the great Ben E. King. Hence the name, “Kingsmen”. Each song on this EP has a beat that was flipped or sampled or inspired by a previous work of Ben E. King. So once again you will get the old school blues and soul vibe on this album because that is exactly how they intended it to be. Sole – Secret History of Underground Rap (Remixes)
Neues Jahr, Neue Musik … oder so ähnlich. Es ist der dritte Tag in 2013 und heute gibts auch gleich das erste großartige digitale Release – hoffetnlich nicht nur für Fans von Sole. Denn selbiger hat im Jahr 2009 eine CD namens “Secret History of Underground Rap (Remixes)” veröffentlicht – allerdings in sehr kleiner Stückzahl. Hier gibt es Remixe von Rap-Klassikern aus den 90ern zu hören, die Sole in seiner Kunst beeinflusst & geprägt haben.
Nun hat er sich dazu entschlossen dieses Projekt via bandcamp digital zu veröffentlichen als ‘name your price’-Download.
Sole: “This is a mixtape where I remixed some of my favorite, most inspiring and some of the most slept on songs from the 90s that have informed my art. This is available as a free download w/ email address & any cash donation goes to tofu & coffee.”
