deviantART ist eine Community von Kreativen (und unkreativen) Leuten die Bilder machen, bearbeiten, erstellen oder einfach nur gutfinden – mehr Infos HIER.

Per Zufall in meinen Youtube-Abos gesehn: Simons Cat schlägt zurück!

“Fly Guy” heisst das am 24.07.2009 hochgeladene, mal wieder wundervolle und so realistische, Animationsfilmchen von Simon Tofields Katze.

“The ‘Fly Guy’ scenario is very familiar to me and I know it will also be for countless other cat owners. This scene is played out every Summer in my house without fail. With glasses, curtains and anything else in the way of the chase getting wrecked.” – simonscat.com

Die Internet-Seite wurde ebenfalls überarbeitet, und ein Buch erscheint auch demnächst … Juhuu.
Verlegt wird das Buch in Deutschland vom Goldmann Verlag.

Interessant ist ausserdem auch der Random Tandem Blog, der Blog der Produktionsfirma für die Simon Tofield arbeitet, den ich hier auch schon das ein oder andere mal erwähnt habe.

Momentan fühle ich mich zwar eher so: —>

Aber trotzdem kann man ja mal über das Stars and Stripes Project von Adrian Champion bloggen.

Musik von den White Stripes nehmen,
HipHop-Pumpen drunter knallen,
ein paar eher bekannte Bekanntheiten draufmischen – fertig sind die White Stripes Reimagined Mash-Ups.

“12 Classic remixes, plus 1 new exclusive track from Adrian Champion, featuring Brian Jacobs. Starring Mos Def, Outkast, Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes, 2Pac,Nas, M.O.P, Eminem, Jay-Z, Redman, Common, and Pharoahe Monch.”

Nebst “Full Album” kann man ausserdem noch die “Instumentals” downloaden. Wie nett.
Schön ist halt, wenn man ausser den verwendeten HipHop “Klassikern” auch noch die White Stripes Lieder kennt …

Adrian Champion himself sagt über das Projekt folgendes:

“I was late jumping on The White Stripes bandwagon. But, when I heard “Doorbell” a few years back I became an instant fan. That raw, classic sound was so fresh to me. I went straight to iTunes and downloaded the whole album. It wasn’t long before I owned everything they’d ever released.

What really got me was that I wanted to sample almost every song. But, I couldn’t just shamelessly sample their whole catalog. Plus, I had just decided to move away from sampling and focus on writing original music. So, a remix project seemed like the thing to do, and the idea was born.

I started digging through my collection and fitting all the pieces together. My goal was to use only samples from The White Stripes and a cappellas from classic songs and my favorite emcees. And of course, I had to rap on one of the tracks myself, with my man Brian Jacobs on the hook.

So there it is, hip-hop fans, meet The White Stripes.
